Simple, Girly Nails

So I started a new job and decided I should do a fairly toned-down nail look. This is my idea of subtle nails.
They're very simple to do, though if you have trouble creating the french tip you can use a guide.
Hope you like them.

Summer Flower Nail Design

Just a quick and fairly simple design today. When summer decided it was over rather quicker than I'd hoped, I decided a bright coral was called for.

As you can see, flowers are not my speciality, but I like the colour combo.

White - Barry M (Matt White)

Olympic Themed Nail Art

Yay, Olympics! I am completely addicted. So much so that I'm almost not bored of hearing Chariots of Fire.
I was particularly proud of Pride (the lion), so here's a close up.
And this is my other hand. There is a yellow ring there, the flash managed to wash it out entirely.
So those are my Olympic nails. Are you watching and supporting your team?

Space themed nails

So I wanted to do a 2 texture nail design, and I decided on a matte black with a shiny, glittery french tip. But being useless at being grown up, I added a googly eyed monster.
One monster has better depth perception that then other...
So that's the result, hope you like.

Jubilee Nails!

So it's the Queen's Diamond Jubilee this weekend, which is a 4 day weekend excuse for parties and cake. And any excuse for cake is an excuse for a nail design.
The contrast on the crown doesn't look great with the flash, but it's good and sparkly in real life.
 The obligatory union flag, blatez.
Hopefully the next design won't be quite so long coming, I've finished my exams so I should have time now.

Easter Bunnies!

I know, a bit late for an Easter look, right? But I thought it was kinda cute and super sparkly and I should share it. Think of it as being majorly organised for next year.
The photos really don't do it justice, the sparkle was amazing. I made a tutorial for the design (don't get too excited, it's in slideshow format). Enjoy!

Odd phenomenon - under a blacklight, the outline of the bunnies glow but not the middle. Weird.
Products used: Light purple - Avon
White - Barry M (Matt White)
                       Light pink - Avon
Black - Rio Nail Art Polish
Small glitter - Barry M (Silver Glitter)
Large glitter - Barry M (Hologram)

Minnie Mouse Nails

The ring finger is supposed to be Minnie's ears. It was a bit of a fail. I quite like the bow, but the ears don't look like ears.
Anywho, it's a fairly simple design and I think it looks cute. Hope you like.
Products used: Red - 17 Fast Finish (Knockout Red)
Black - 17 Fast Finish (Nightshade)
White - Barry M (Matt White)

St Patrick's Day Nails

It's St. Patrick's Day! Green and gold and sparkly and fun. The leprechaun is hiding, by the way, it's not that I couldn't be bothered to paint one.
I saw an article on Beautylish about reverse painting nails in a Louboutin heel style. I liked the idea, but I changed up the colour scheme a bit.
 Yay, sparkle!
Hope you like them, and I hope everyone has a great St. Patrick's Day (to be sure)!

Water Marbled Nails

One of my friends suggested I try water marbling, so I did. It is my first attempt, so some are better than others, but overall I really like the effect.
This thumb nail is my favourite. I love how complicated it looks, but it's actually not that tricky. Just beware the amount of clean up that will be needed!
Hope you like them :)
Products used: White - Barry M (Matte White)
                       Light Purple - Avon
                       Dark Purple - Avon
                       Dark Green - Barry M

Apple nails

My cousin sent me a link to bubzbeauty's video on youtube (look her up - seriously cute designs) so I gave the look a go.

You have to ignore the odd nails lengths; there were several casualties over Christmas.

I'm pretty happy with them, the green looks more appley and not so washed out in real life.
Products used: Green - Barry M (Spring Green)
Red - Nails Inc. (Victoria and Albert)
Brown - Me Me Me (Amethyst)
Beige - Nails Inc. (Basil Street)
Dark green - mix of green and brown

Pokemon Nails!

Pokemon are awesome. Voila pokemon.

The centres are actually silver, I know you can't really see it with the flash.
 Yeah, Pikachu.

Festive colours

I know these are uber late, but these were my Christmas nails. basically I got three new nail varnishes for free and wanted to use them. So I went for an abstract-y design in festive-y colours.

I hope you like them, and I hope I get some designs up with a bit more regularity in the future...

Quick Update

Sorry for being so slack with posting recently. I've been crazy busy! Still got another week of headless chickendom, but there are more designs a-coming...
